Dr. Sonia. MBBS. Psychiatry Team
Dr. Sonia is a registered medical doctor licenced by the Ministry of Health in Malaysia. Dr.Sonia is known for delivering exceptional care to the young people and families that he works alongside. Dr. Sonia has a background in psychiatry and is currently undertaking a dual qualification (MSc Counselling) to complement his superb skill set.
Sporty (an ex-member of the national squash team), energetic and enthusiastic, Dr. Sonia is looking for opportunities to add creativity and a positive, vibrant atmosphere to his work with young people. In fact, in his previous hospital, she was voted “The Most Enthusiastic Doctor” at Hospital Sri Aman in Sarawak. Dedication and commitment to providing outstanding care is part of Sonia’s every day.
Dr. Sonia is based in The Wave Main House, where he is an active member of the psychiatry and psychotherapy teams, providing one-to-one and group sessions and working alongside our amazing global families. Dr. Sonia accompanies young people who require medical assistance to travel to and from The Wave and bed-to-bed transfers from other hospitals worldwide.
We are very lucky to have Dr. Sonia in our team. Psychiatry and psychotherapy combined training is a really special skill set, and the teens and young adults at The Wave benefit from the emerging and evidence-based psychiatric practice.
