Flights and International Arrivals
Travel to Malaysia for residential treatment for eating disorders, mental health, general psychiatry and addictions is currently permitted. Our Admission team will be delighted to assist you with flight or travel arrangements.
Teenagers and young adults may be accompanied by a family member, friend or a professional recovery coach. They may also travel as an unaccompanied minor with most international airlines or as a solo traveller.
Our chauffeurs and a member of our clinical team will be on hand to meet you, your family or young person if travelling unaccompanied.
The Wave is just a 30-minute drive from KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport). Please check with your airline on the terminal for your arrival.

If you do not have travel insurance, or if you prefer to pay privately for any additional needs, please let our Admissions team know in advance.
There are currently no required travel vaccinations from most countries to Malaysia.
*Our Admissions team will be happy to advise you on the latest COVID-19 restrictions and vaccination requirements for entry.
In the event of quarantine orders for some travellers, our young people and families will be accompanied by a designated hotel driver directly from KLIA.
Quarantine hotels with VIP packages are available in Kuala Lumpur for international arrivals. We will assist with booking and recommendations based upon the feedback from our previously quarantined families.
Our team and doctors will arrange Zoom sessions every day, should you find yourself needing to quarantine. We are able to transport equipment and necessities, including nutritional supplements, into quarantine hotels. Our doctors are able to prescribe and deliver directly to your hotel.

Arriving at The Wave
Arriving anywhere new can feel a little daunting. You will be accompanied by your recovery coach (who you will have shared the journey with from the airport) throughout your arrival.
We will show you around and introduce you to your therapist, psychiatrist and named nurse. We will help you to settle into your room and introduce you to your peers.

We have developed a very special relationship with The Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Situated right next to Kuala Lumpur’s most famous landmark ‘The Petronus Towers’.
The team at The Four Seasons have worked alongside us for three years and visited us on many occasions to understand the level of service that our families need during arrival, departure and family therapy weeks. The hotel team will happily accommodate late or early arrivals and special requests in the hotel or serviced apartments.
